Best iPad Browsers

No doubt, the built-in Safari web browser is doing a great job as a web browser for your iPad. But to a certain degree, there are certain weak points that other browsers have improved upon or perhaps focused more. As there is no way to change the default browser, below is a rundown of the 3 of the best alternative browsers you can take advantage for your iPad.

To note, (lest we forget) all these 3 browsers are available at no cost – absolutely free.

1. Google Chrome. Hands down the Google Chrome is truly excellent for iOS devices. Most – if not all – standard features (e.g., tabbed browsing, bookmarks) are available.

However, what sets this browser apart are a few unique features. For instance, Chrome offers both swipe left and swipe right between your open tabs. Very helpful for faster switching. Moreover, you could actually request for the desktop site of a chosen page allowing full access instead of the mobile version. Of course, it’s a matter of preference as many feel the mobile version is a poor imitation of the desktop one.

2. Dolphin Browser. Another great browser is Dolphin, suited best for iPod Touch, iPad (mini) and iPhones. As expected, standard features are available (e.g., find on page, tabbed browsing).

On the other end, Dolphin offers many unique feature. Swiping left, for example, reveals your opent tab while a swipe right  exposes your bookmarks. Altogether, this cuts a lot of corners as switching tabs or a bookmark operation is just a matter of swipe and tap.

Also, Dolphin can be tapped for gesture shortcuts or even go for audio control by activating sonar for $.99. Pretty neat. Another shortcut is the one-tap sharing which including settings and access downloads can be availed by tapping the 6 dots at the bottom.

Perhaps what makes the Dolphin truly stand-out is its broadcast feature – very timely for conferences and meets. With this feature, you can actually broadcast via the Dolphin browser the specific website to all the devices within the same wi-fi network.

This added connectivity is characteristic of Dolphin. Another example is sharing webpages utilizing Evernote. Just have your account connected and you can avail of 2-tap sharing to get all you visited sited saved. Truly convenient.

3. Opera. This is another wonderful option for your iPad or for any iOS device. Like Safari, standard features (e.g., find in page, bookmarks) are included.

Opera’s forte includes a speed-dial bookmark and a share option that is built-in for easy social media sharing – Google+, FB, Twitter or email. Additionally, the Saved Pages – akin to Safari’s Offline Reading feature - is a welcome relief when you are offline and do not have access to any internet network. This allows pages to be saved locally to your device for later access. And when you are away from Wifi, Opera keeps track of your data usage so you can make your session truly count.

Now knowing these iOS-ready browsers exist is a real breather. Truly, surfing the web have never been more fun with all these choise. And with the advent of quality iPad keyboard cases, your iPad experience could be the best part of your day – everyday.
